NONPROFIT & SMALL BUSINESS CONSULTANT

2016 - Current

Provide leadership for the administrative functions and developmental goals for non-profit organizations and small businesses, typically during times of struggle or change. Collaborate with Board of Directors and staff members on strategic plans and corresponding budgets. Oversee fundraising efforts, community outreach, engagement, community service activities, and personnel management while addressing positive change and putting timelines in place. Development and implement fundraising strategies and programs to meet the goals of the strategic plans. Plan events and make planned events more productive to allow for broader scope, cultivate donors, coordinate donor acknowledgment, and identify and pursue new grant opportunities. Act as the face or spokesperson of person of organization, serving as advocate while searching for permanent replacement for the role. Oversee facility operations and provide monthly financial reports. Ensure all bills have been paid, make arrangements for past debts, and perform all payroll duties. Service long and short term contracts and one-time efforts for large corporations and smaller businesses and non-profits conducting tasks ranging from overhauling under-performing departments to creating processes and developing brands.

  • Typically perform a massive internal audit to bring legal compliance organizational-wide.

  • Overhaul incorrect budget to begin immediate corrections.

  • Retain legal counsel, CPA, financial advisers, and other industry professionals, and negotiate reduced rates to begin complex operation improvements and money-saving efforts.

ARTIST

January 2004 - Current

Show original photography and mixed media art work in over a dozen shows in galleries across the country, curated by art professionals from the Smithsonian, Envision, The O’Hanlon Center, and others. This skill set allows have broad creative experiences, the ability to create graphics for logos, collateral, and events, as well as experiences within event planning and a wide-range of industry contacts, as well as uncommon ideas to contribute. My writing has been published in hundreds of materials and publications. 

  • Executed concert event raising 275% above fundraising goal with a $0 budget. Created concept, designed branding, lined up performer, emceed event, secured donations, recruited and managed 30+ volunteers, arranged safety and parking, and processed donations. Longmont Ending domestic Violence Initiative (L.E.V.I.) non-profit.

  • Conceptualized and implemented quick-turnaround fundraiser that achieved funding for immediate community need. Promoted and executed photography sessions to generate funds for direct donation. Crayons to Calculators non-profit.

  • Photographed 30+ survivors as part of sexual assault awareness annual gallery exhibit and large fundraiser. SAVA, Fort Collins 

  • Led development efforts for H.O.P.E. (homeless outreach) by establishing systems for promotions, a calendar of events, and budgeting. Created social media, overhauled website, and executed networking activities and speaking engagements. 

  • Supported fundraising of $170k for school organization through grant writing, promotion, event management, and photography.   

COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR, AUBURN CREST HOSPICE

2018 - 2019

Created and implemented marketing efforts to support branch and company. Developed social media strategies to highlight organizational mission statement and promote brand. Performed in-services for medical professionals to build loyalty and introduce services. Met and exceeded census targets while being attentive to insurance and federal requirements, facility capacity, and patient care factors. 

  • Increased census by capitalizing on strengths of unique boutique hospice, requiring a creative strategy.  

  • Managed up to assisted General Manager with many operational, recruitment, and management tasks that were outside of his expertise; built his confidence and cross-trained him on other positions and tasks to allow for better office experiences.

  • Recruited staff to support census-building efforts to meet goals. Trained CNA’s, RN’s, and MD with marketing skills to fit their personalities and skills in order to promote business to facilities through relationship building, education, and giveaways.

DISTRICT MANAGER, MOTHERHOOD MATERNITY

2000 - 2003

Supervised 75+ employees at 16 locations across three states. Oversaw district performance, scheduling, and inventory. Handled recruiting, training, development, motivation, and retention. Created Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), supported Inventory team, and led set-up of large displays within region. Developed incentive program for managers.

▪ Opened new location which quickly became the region’s highest volume store in the region.
▪ Maintained sales metrics (sales, UPT, shrink, etc.)  and achieved consistent top performance in all measures.
